VOLTA is an intersectoral project and will exploit the complementary expertise of the partners to produce and transfer new skills and solutions throught secondment activities among the partners. The project activities are structured in 7 Work Packages (WP) including coordination and dissemination, automation in photogrammetry, data and sensor integration, segmentation and classification, big data and geoprocessing on the web as well as knowledge transfer, training and networking.
VOLTA’s activities will stimulate scientific advances, obtain international recognition and open-up new market opportunities through improved international visibility of the partners, competitiveness, knowledge growth and better career perspectives for the seconded staff members. VOLTA’s secondments will allow partners to visit other institutions, exchange knowledge and work on joint research ideas in the geospatial field. All partners will benefit from project developments and secondments, and will integrate them into their future research projects, workflows, offers and partnerships.
VOLTA started its secondment activities in Fall 2017 with FBK and IGN staff members hosted in AVT Vermessung (Austria). The research activities are within WP2 and related to invariant keypoints and bundle adjustment.
In Spring 2018, still within WP2 topics, AVT hosted a fellow from Univ. Warsaw, FBK hosted staff members from Vexcel-Imaging and OS UK whereas Vexcel-Imaging hosted a fellow from FBK.
Secondment for AVT, Vexcel and OS UK fellows in FBK Trento!
CNC researcher working in FBK on 3D building modeling from dense point clouds!
FBK and TU Vienna fellows jointly working on aerial oblique photogrammetry @ ICGC Barcellona!
During fall and winter 2018-2019, the secondment activities are continuing, with fellows present in ICGC, TU Delft, LUH and TU Vienna.
